Operation Black Rain: A Weekend of Hope

Black Rain Ordnance recently hosted a special event for veterans called Operation Black Rain. The event was put on by Charlie 22 Outdoors & took place on Black Rain’s property in Neosho, Missouri, from June 9th to 11th.

Thirteen veterans from various branches of service were invited to attend the event. Those in attendance were given the opportunity to stay at one of the homes on the BRO property, shoot several different AR-15’s, the new BRO 22’s and a variety of handguns as well.  Black Rain Ordnance had three Shooter Development Institute (SDI) Instructors on-site to provide instruction and ensure the safety of everyone involved.  This year’s attendees were also given the opportunity to participate in Black Rain’s Build A BRO course which walks students through the process of building a premium Black Rain AR-15 from the ground up! Black Rain Co-Founder & Vice President, Charlie Spires said, “We are so grateful for the men and women who serve this country. They deserve to know that someone has their back.”

Many of those who attended the event said that it was a much-needed break from the stresses of everyday life. These events allow veterans to come together, build bonds, & fellowship.

Charlie 22 Outdoors is a non-profit organization that is committed to ending veteran suicide. The organization acts as a friend who comes along side each veteran to ensure they have the resources they need to accomplish their goals. Scott Hettinger, Founder of Charlie 22 Outdoors said, “You aren’t meant do do this alone, none of us are!  God has called us to share the hope & joy that can be found in Jesus Christ with the veteran community, and that is what we intend to do.”

Black Rain Ordnance is a firearms manufacturer with a long history of supporting the veteran community. In fact, many of the Black Rain Employees who served during this event are veterans themselves. Operation Black Rain was a great success. It was a chance for veterans to come together, relax, and have fun. It was also a chance for them to learn new skills and to connect with other veterans who understand what they are going through.

Charlie 22 Outdoors and Black Rain Ordnance are committed to helping veterans. They are working together to give back in the hopes that one day we can all live in a world where veterans lives aren’t being lost to suicide or self-harm.  Every life is precious.  Everyone deserves to know they have value and are truly loved.
